WARD, Dr. Linda Margaret (Lin) 08/26/53 - 05/12/07

After her months-long journey with cancer, Lin passed away peacefully, her loving husband at her side, close family and friends nearby. Even in her last days, Lin amazed and inspired us with her graceful demeanor, sharp wit, and fierce determination. Born in London England, Lin moved to Canada with her mother and brother in 1968. Always a diligent student with a love for learning, after high school Lin excelled at various jobs until finding her niche in health and fitness. A sought-after aerobics instructor, she also competed in numerous triathlons, and enjoyed hiking and running with her beloved dog Elsi. In 1992 it was love at first sight for her and Derek Youngs, whom she married in 1997. Soon after, Lin pursued studies in Traditional Chinese Medicine, becoming a doctor in this field. Highly esteemed by both peers and patients, she had a busy practice in Vancouver and then on the Sunshine Coast, where she and Derek moved in 2001. She was passionate about healing, possessing great intuition and the gift of getting to the heart of any matter. Her industrious and caring nature also showed in her home and garden, where Lin strove to create beauty around her. She is survived by her husband Derek Youngs, mother Rene Bolton, brother Dave Ward (& Viola), daughter Angela (& Chad), stepdaughters Pauline and Christine, and step-grandchildren Kyle and Chamille. We will all miss her deeply, but shall rejoice as her soul continues on a great journey.
